Lovelace Bridges walk: shorter trail
In the 1860’s Lord Lovelace built 15 decorative bridges to enable timber to be moved across the woodlands in the southern part of his Horsley Towers estate. 10 of these bridges survive today and represent a unique heritage asset of the Horsleys. This shorter 3.2 miles walk begins at the Sheepleas car park in Green Dene and provides close up views of 6 Lovelace bridges, including all of the best-preserved structures.
Lovelace Bridges walk: longer trail
Also starting at the Sheepleas car park in Green Dene, this is a longer version of the Lovelace Bridges trail which passes all 10 of the surviving bridges in a 5.2 miles’ long walk.
